  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration and /or English Literature and/ with 2 years of relevant experience or Baccalaureate with 4 years for relevant experience.

Skills

  • Precision in editing and drafting
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Dari and/or Pashto
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including MS Word MS Excel and MS Outlook

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of H.E the State Minister for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs the Translator/ Interpreter is mainly responsible for following activities;




  • Undertaking a range of translation and interpretation assignments in the target language ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained.

  • Providing consecutive or simultaneous interpretation into the target language in a variety of settings i.e. meetings seminars workshops and other events.

  • Translating according to established rules pertaining to factors such as word meanings sentence structure grammar punctuation and mechanics

  • Use of special dictionaries thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words

  • Proofread edit and provide final translated versions with a grammatical well-expressed version of the translated text as a word-processed document.

  • Meeting deadlines as established by supervisor

  • Revising translations made by other staff as needed

  • Maintaining administrative work in connection with all translation/interpretation assignment

  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
