Minimum Required Qualifications

Degree in the related fields of Animal Science Veterinary and Agriculture Economics

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years prior experience working in the related fields i.e value chain development market facilitation activities grants etc..

This position requires traveling to the following provinces Wardak Logar Parwan Kapsia and districts of Kabul.

Experience working with other donor funded agriculture development programs.

Demonstrated experience in organizing and/or conducting facilitation activities including trainings B2Bs workshops and seminars.

Knowledge of all major Microsoft processing programs (Microsoft Word Excel Power Point).

English language proficiency


Preferred Qualifications

At least 5 years with bachelor degree and 3 with master degree in field of Agribusiness

Experience working with other donor-funded agricultural development programs;

Possessing a network of acquaintances within agribusinesses in RADP-E target provinces.


Conditions of Work Requirements

Work and living facilities are in high security zones with frequent security drills and protocols and limited access to medical facilities. General work environment and living quarters requires ability to walk numerous flights of stairs on a daily basis. Security protocols require the individual in this position to be able to quickly climb multiple flights of stairs while wearing 30 lbs. of personal protective equipment walk swiftly or run across uneven terrain without assistance and enter and exit project vehicles without assistance. 


Reports to: Value Chain Manager RADP-E

Duties & Responsibilities


The Value Chain Specialist will be based in the RADP-E office in Kabul and is primarily responsible for value chain activities in RADP-E targeted provinces (Kabul Logar Wardak Parwan and Kapisa). The Value Chain Specialist reports to the Value Chain Lead & Manager for technical and programmatic guidance.  As a member of the larger RADP-E technical team the Value Chain Specialist is expected to coordinate with and support RADP-E program initiatives in their respective provinces. The Value Chain Specialist will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all value chain actors including MAIL/DAIL implementing Partners Ag-input suppliers Agro-processors wholesalers farmer organizations and farmers.


Objective and Duties

The Value Chain Specialist will be responsible for the following:

Identify lead firms in designated value chain implement facilitative activities and cultivate relationships with firms and other market actors

Contribute to the design of facilitative activities with the Value Chain Lead and Value Chain Manager draft and refine annual work plans

Partner with crosscutting technical advisors to address gender integration environment concerns access to finance and market linkages

Works with businesses owned by women to increase their capacity sales and profitability

Works with women-owned private sector enterprises to improve their accounting and organizational structure supply chain and distribution channels.

Promotes good relationships between RADP-E and its stakeholders (private sector donor projects MoWA and MAIL/PAIL)

Participates in meetings and conferences as required

Coordinate activities with other value chain specialists with in the office and provinces 

Work closely with the M&E team to incorporate feedback and learning into the activities with Value Chain Leads

Performs any other related tasks that support the overall project as assigned by the supervisor
