Duties & Responsibilities


War Child Canada aims to help strengthen the judicial system by enhancing the knowledge and skills of justice sector actors and law enforcement officials to effectively advocate for increased enforcement of existing national child protection laws the Convention on the Rights of the Child practices and active prosecution against bacha baazi; and as well help strengthen the community based child protection mechanisms in community level through enhancing the community knowledge by encouraging the community people to engage and participate in legal awareness/trainings youth led activities psychosocial awareness sessions campaigns community events and voluntary works  to struggle for child rights and protection Bachabazi and trafficking in person issues and facilitate for advocacy in this regard. Therefore War Child Canada would like to engage a Consultant with specialized skills to provide support for the WCC justice pillar’s Youth Development Section through providing required trainings to the youth groups and work closely with them coaching and mentoring the youth led projects according to the WCC standards on youth engagement procedure and policy – the Consultant will closely work with the Sr. Program Officer youth trainers and the justice team. Candidates applying in response to this announcement will be assessed for their knowledge and skills and their ability to work with War Child Canada legal team and other stakeholders (all established community based mechanisms) to lead providing comprehensive awareness session/trainings designing dramas theaters and campaigns to enhance the community people knowledge supporting children in community level.

Specific Job responsibilities duties and tasks:

  1. Handle all youth development related activities to enhance the youth groups’ capacity for better implementation of the program activities;

  2. Support the program team reviewing the developed tools for further improvement as per WCC quality standards;

  3. Support youth leaders and youth lead activities on:(designing and conducting community education campaigns theaters dramas stage shows and sport events) to enhance the community knowledge on child rights and protection and struggling against Bachabazi issues;

Expected Deliverables:

  • All youth development activities are done as per WCC quality standards

  • The existing tools are further improved

  • Youth led projects are designed implemented and resulted as per WCC quality standards. Also best practices are documented for lesson learning.
