A Bachelor’s degree in agricultural development or agronomy. A graduate degree preferred.
5-7 years’ experience working directly with agriculture-based project and/or working directly in agricultural production or business.
Experience with international aid or development agencies.
Strong understanding of agricultural value chains.
Ability to travel to project locations and conduct training and oversee agricultural production work.
Excellent spoken and written Dari and Pashto with English an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead and manage a variety of different personalities and people from different backgrounds and regions
High attention to detail strong work ethic and ability to be a self-starter.

Provide technical and management oversight of agricultural development activities aimed at providing livelihood support to women participating in the WFP project activities implemented by SFL.
Provide good agronomic and support training for women participants who will be growing aloe vera and vegetables as cash crops in established greenhouses in districts of Kabul Province where project activities are implemented.
Responsible for the development of training materials and procedures based on technical input from the agronomists and public and private partners and technical experts from the Department of Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock.
Work with operations and project staff to ensure procurement of necessary inputs is completed in a timely fashion to ensure implementation of agricultural activities.
Work with operations and project staff to ensure procurement and construction of greenhouses required for cultivation of aloe vera.
Work with operations and logistical staff to ensure that all needed tools and equipment are available for use during trainings and work days.
Assist project supervisors in researching which locations are most conducive to successful cultivation of fruit and non-fruit trees planted near project sites.
Work closely with the M&E team to ensure that training feedback is incorporated into reports and overall organizational learning.
Coordinate the formulation implementation and analysis of applied on-farm research activities focusing on enhancement of agricultural productivity in environmentally and financially sustainable ways for the women targeted to participate in agricultural production.
Provide assistance in developing new opportunities for cultivation of dry land crops including pulse crops oil seeds crops root crops shrubs and medicinal plants.
Provide regular and timely reporting of activities to project managers as required on a monthly basis or as needed.
