QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE



High School diploma or equivalent is required. Technical diploma either from a Technical College/Trade School or through an accepted national apprenticeship programme. Valid national driving license is essential.



Work Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in installation repair and servicing of generators in a private commercial or military environment

 Languages: Fluency in written and oral English Dari or Pashtu is required. 

Special measure:

The minimum work experience for GL-4 is reduced to 2 years instead of the standard minimum requirement work experience of 3 years. The special measure approved by the Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM)-UNHQ is further extended until 31 December 2019 reduces the minimum required years of relevant work experience for filling positions for UNAMA General Service and National Professional Officer positions. The special measure is applicable to all applicants.

Within delegated authority the incumbent will carry out the following duties:



• Carries out installations on small and large capacity generator sets and related equipment.

• Carries out scheduled and routine maintenance emergency repairs and overhaul of generators (static/mobile) including the installation of auxiliary fuel systems such as tanks transfer pumps and pit works.

• Responsible for maintaining Generator and related equipment spare parts stock.

• Responsible for Generator operation data log sheet (Fuel Lubricants KWh Running Hour Temperature Pressure etc.) compilation and maintaining generator sets and related equipment records within mission.

• Liaise with contactor technicians for daily update on generators operating condition efficiency fuel consumed KWh produced etc.

• Responsible for applying engineering standards and practices in the installation and maintenance of generators.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
