  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Being meticulous/attention to the details

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues


Having a robust alumni community is a primary priority of the University because our expanding alumni network which includes successful entrepreneurs public servants and civil society leaders of considerable repute is one of AUAF’s biggest assets. AUAF is regularly asked by key donors including the US Government to discuss the importance of investment in AUAF.  Our alumni and their successes are a key validator for ongoing investment in AUAF and in Afghanistan’s future. The Office of Alumni Relations a relatively new one at AUAF has an ambitious goal of building a community that yields a high level of alumni engagement.

The Global Alumni Coordinator has a crucial role in helping the university move towards sustainability. The individual will work closely with the Director of Advancement and the Communications and Development Offices to develop and implement a proactive alumni engagement strategic plan. Moreover the person will maintain an up-to-date record of our alumni through constantly engaging with alumni and updating our database. The Coordinator will work with various units within the University including the academic departments the office of advancement to develop and implement policies and services that will help build an engaged and resourceful alumni community.


The Global Alumni Relation Coordinator’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as a proactive team member of the AUAF Advancement team

  • Develop and implement a proactive alumni engagement strategic plan

  • Coordinate with the relevant offices to give alumni access to the AUAF campuses update their alumni ID cards (this includes conducting security and information session).

  • Update and maintain the alumni database

  • Manage the social media platform related to alumni: work closely with AUAF’s communication department to ensure that our alumni are receives all the relevant news from the University

  • Maintain a proper filing system for the alumni relations office activities

  • Collect and analyze alumni data

  • Prepare alumni profiles to showcase the value proposition of an AUAF education

  • Build awareness around the importance of alumni participation in an AUAF endowment

  • Conduct alumni surveys.

  • Timely response to alumni inquiries

  • Organize and attend alumni relations office meetings with the Alumni Association Board and other entities.

  • Organize and executing alumni relations office events.

  • Prepare progress reports for the alumni events; and

  • Carry out any other job related duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement.
