V. Education and Experience

  • Completed University degree from an accredited academic institution in Medicine preferably with additional public health degree;

  • Experience in public health sector with knowledge of project development implementation and monitoring.

Working with the Afghan Administration and host governments around the world IOM Kabul assists the voluntary return of Afghans through its network of offices in those countries by providing Return Reception and Reintegration assistance through its Return Reintegration and Resettlement Programme (RRR).

Under the overall supervision of the National Program Manager and under the direct supervision of the National Program Officer the successful candidate will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Being present at Kabul airport during each planned arrival;

  • Examining and treating all returnees requesting medical assistance;

  • Liaison with hospitals and laboratories involved in health services

  • Establishing an effective referral mechanism with both public and private hospitals

  • Assist in medical procurement mechanism related to AVRR

  • Ensure that all relevant data generated by AVRR are gathered systematically and analysed in a standardized manner.

  • Attend to all Medical queries from IOM sending missions

  • Other duties as assigned by programme officer/programme manager
