Work Experience: Minimum 6 six Months of experience working with G Years
  • Graduated from recognized midwifery program in country
  • Minimum of 6 sixe months relevant work experience previous specifically experience in hygiene an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with a team
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to travel and work in difficult conditions and under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication public speaking and strategic planning skills required.
  • English fluency and writing skills are required.
  • Knowledge on WASH promotion and ability to develop training on the topic.
  • Ability to engage with local communities in rural areas.
  • Physically able to spend the long periods of time in the field.
  • Ability to think independently and problem solve.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Honest hardworking and committed to community development.
  • Self-starter flexible resilient and a sense of humor.
  • Previous humanitarian experience

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Scope of work:
  • To provide focused antenatal care including counseling and screening tests.
  • Provide and counseling on Family planning methods available.
  • Diagnosing monitoring and examining mothers during pregnancy and in labor.
  • Identifying high risk pregnancies and making referral to relevant specialists.
  • Identifying and management of gynaena cological condition.
  • Provide health education for the pregnant and post-natal mother involve partner and family members.
  • Refer women for deliveries to nearest Hfs and attend deliveries in home which are not ready to visit the nearest HFs.
  • Management of postpartum mothers and babies and complications in peuperium.
  • Refer incomplete and complete abortions to nearest HFs.
  • Record keeping and data collection.
  • Counsel manage and referral of SGBV cases.
  • Adherence to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in RIs’ policies and procedure manuals.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with all ASLO staff and for attending and participating in regular staff meetings.
  • Conduct him/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to ASLO and not to jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
