At least four years of professional experience in the humanitarian sector with international organizations
At least three year experience implementing social work and case management support with an International NGO
Knowledge of human rights and protection with a focus on vulnerable individuals
Strong understanding of humanitarian response architecture particularly in terms of services and humanitarian protection
Ability to write reports in English
Strong ability to capacity build through delivering trainings providing coaching and mentoring.
Strong coordination skills
Technical diploma or university degree in social work human rights or related degree preferred.
Context related skills knowledge and experience
Good understanding of risks stakeholders and dynamics relevant to humanitarian protection of vulnerable displaced persons in Afghanistan
Good understanding of the gender dynamics at play and the way it requires adaptation
Demonstrated understanding of working with vulnerable adults
Fluency in English is essential strong written ability is key for this role.
Fluency in Dari/ Pashtu.

Contribute to Protection strategy development technical guidance project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps
Provide technical direction to ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection explore and assess new and better ways to assist.
Provide technical support to ensure high technical quality of protection projects implementation in line with proposals donor requirements NRC strategies and PCM framework.
Promote share ideas for improvement and Ensure that key learnings are extracted from protection project implementation and incorporate them in protection programme and staff development processes.
Provide systematic training and build capacity of technical staff in approaches including cash-based interventions and market based programme
Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Provide technical guidance and support for the design and improvement of the Case Management system including sharing and developing of tools guidelines and standards as appropriate.
Technically support the protection coordinators and officers – case management- through day to day coaching and mentoring on internal and external coordination case management implementation and follow up data base registration and supervision.
Provide training to the case management teams based on the needs assessed
Develop NRC Afghanistan community of practice on protection case management and foster coordination through regular meetings and exchanges between the field offices.
Work closely with the Protection Coordinators– case management Protection Managers and the Protection Specialist to ensure that the Case Management Guidelines and SOPs on Case Management are adhered to and any departures documented and addressed.
Provide regular updates to the protection specialist on progress priorities and constraints and draft analytical reports on the protection Case Management.
Regularly review the case management files and data base
Ensure that case files registers and computer databases are used in an appropriate and correct manner and ensure that the Protection Officer-caseworkers adhere to proper documentation data protection and data sharing protocols.
Ensure that maps of existing services and corresponding referral mechanisms are regularly updated.
Coordinate with external protection actors providing specialized protection services for programmatic and advocacy purpose.
Ensure that the Case Management principles are understood and adhered to
