Bachelor’s degree inGeomatics Cadaster Civil Hydraulic Engineering or any other relevant field master’s degree is highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of similar experience with Master’s degree.
Experience with Hydropower Dam and Water infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
Professional MS Office and engineering software’s (Auto CAD Civil 3D).
Outstanding interpersonal and team management skills;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Working knowledge of Pashto and Dari
Familiar in using of survey instruments (Total station Level transit GPS and others).
Familiar with international standards of survey.
The project is located in Karokh District in the Province of Herat. The dam is to be constructed across the confluence of Karokh River with its two tributaries namely Rud-e- Awsar and Rud-e- Shah Aab near Pashdan village at a distance of about 17 Km from Herat City.
Contract between Ministry of Energy and Water (National Water Affairs Regulation Authority) of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and JV of Hewadwal Group and AZETQ was signed on 13 March 2011. Contractor mobilized and started the works in June 2011. Due to some specific reasons the work has been suspended in April 2016 up to August 2018. work has been re-awarded with the following amendment in the original contract. Pursuant to NPC Decision No. 2149 dated 16/08/1396 and Decision No. 1634 dated 18/04/1397 Amendment No. 2 was incorporated between the Ministry of Energy and Water and the JV of Hewadwal R & BCC and EVRASCON.
SCOPE OF WORK
The main purpose of the project is to irrigate agricultural land with secondary benefits of hydropower flood control and domestic water supply.
The scope of work is divided into four major components:
Engineering and Design
Construction General Preliminaries and Infrastructural Works
Rock fill Dam Intake Power House and Appurtenant Structures
Irrigation System Canals and Canal Structures
Further a portion of the Herat-Maymana highway leading to Karokh district and Badghis Province and two bridges will get submerged in the dam reservoir. A new road along with bridges will have to be constructed at suitable height to replace the submerged portion of the highway.
National Water Affairs Regulation Authority (NWARA) is determined to finish the project on time with assuring the best quality of work by contractors. Therefore it is intended to establish an expert and experienced team for supervision of work implementation of project and assurance of quality.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES but not limited to these;
Conducting practical survey of dams canals irrigation projects and hydraulic structures with the required time frame.
Preparation of formats for quantity survey of dams canals irrigation projects and hydraulic structures.
Work quantities estimation.
Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
Direct or conduct surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties based on legal deeds and titles.
Record the results of surveys including the shape contour location elevation and dimensions of land or land features.
Calculate heights depths relative positions property lines and other characteristics of terrain.
Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines elevations and other geodetic measurements.
Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel clients and others concerned with projects.
Adjust surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy.
Conducting topographic survey profiles and cross-sections.
Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas using theodolites transits levels and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
Train assistants and helpers and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.
Analyze survey objectives and specifications in order to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparation.
Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions shapes and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features.
Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures.
Conduct research in surveying and mapping methods using knowledge of techniques of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.
Locate and mark sites selected for geophysical prospecting activities such as efforts to locate petroleum or other mineral products.
Survey bodies of water in order to determine navigable channels and to secure data for construction of breakwaters piers and other marine structures.
