The Residence Hall Coordinator is vital for the safety monitoring and development of students living in the AUAF male and female residence halls. As a member of the Office of Student Affairs reporting to the Residence Life Manager and along with other Residence Hall Coordinators in the team the person in this position will ensure the smooth operation and positive learning and living environment in the residence halls.
This position resides in an apartment within the male residence hall.
On call 24 hours per day 7 days per week based on Residence Hall schedule.
Reside in and oversee day-to-day operations of assigned AUAF Residence Hall.
Demonstrate care and concern for residents’ personal and educational welfare.
Have daily interaction with all residents.
Provide mentorship and assist residents with personal and educational matters.
Oversee and assist with the planning and implementation of programs and activities for residents.
Provide guidance and direction to the Resident Assistant staff in creating programs that meet the social educational developmental recreational and personal well-being of the resident students.
Work with the Security Transportation Cafeteria University Clinic and other key office to ensure that the needs of the residents are being addressed in the best possible manner.
Work with the Resident Assistants to ensure residents take responsibilities for cleanliness of personal spaces including but not limited to rooms and bathrooms.
Provide oversight and guidance for residents in preparations of meals not served in the university cafeteria.
Staff Selection Supervision Development
Supervise train and evaluate Resident Assistants and ensure completion of his/her duties as assigned.
Assist Resident Assistants and/or other designated university officials with room inspections.
Directly supervise and monitor the janitorial staff in their duties in the providing cleaning services for the residence hall to include but not limited to common rooms bathrooms kitchen and ensuring staff that student bedding and towels are washed weekly.
Maintain on-going communication and cooperation with the Student Development Specialist and/or the Office of Student Affairs:
Regarding any student conduct issues
General and emergency welfare concerns of residents.
Facilities and maintenance concerns.
Safety and security matters.
Student transportation matters.
Personal absences from the Residence Hall.
Report maintenance and facility concerns to the Facilities Staff including doing any needed follow-up to ensure those issues are addressed.
Attend and Assist with university events including but not limited to: Residence Life programs New Student Orientation Commencement and Fun Fair.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor of the Residence Life Program and/or Director of Student Affairs.
Enforce all the policies procedures and regulations of residential living with the students.
Assist and guide the Resident Assistants in your role of enforcing all the policies procedures and regulations
Ensure that all student conduct issues are documented and reported to Student Conduct in the Student Affairs Office
Attend and participate in Resident Assistant training in August and January every year;
Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions under the direction of the Student Development Specialist;
