The successful Security Administration officer should have the following skills experience and qualifications:
Security professional with proven management experience within the security industry the public sector or armed services preferably 3-5 years government military and/or police service or equivalent private sector security-related experience.
At least 4-year work experience in relevant area.
Experience in establishing security policies and procedures relating to police/military and/or investigation agencies.
Area knowledge and experience in Afghanistan particularly Kabul.
Management experience within an International agency.
Strong verbal and written briefing and reporting skills including good command of spoken and written English.
Demonstrated experience operating in a multicultural environment.
Experienced and knowledgeable in security/safety-related subjects threat/risk assessment security management and personnel/organizational security awareness.
Technical competency and training experience with field-based communications systems (such as HF Codan Motorola/ICOM VHF Thuraya/Mobiq satellite systems).
Excellent diplomatic communication and reporting skills.
Computer skills (including MS Word Excel Access and internet).
Fluency in English Dari and Pashtu (spoken written comprehension).
Ability to work closely professionally and constructively with all others regardless of nationality ethnicity gender religion race tribe or cultural background.
Where necessary recommend changes in line with current practices to ensure AUAF documentation and procedures are applicable in compliance with Afghanistan Laws and commensurate with current and perceived threats and risks to the organization.
Initiate all National Vetting security clearances and maintain appropriate records.
Assist the Director/Assistant Director of security in undertaking various tasks in accordance with the ‘Mandatory requirements’ of the Security Policy Framework Document including Security surveys security risk assessments drafting relevant policies and procedures and compiling security reports.
Represent the Security Department on any relevant project workgroups and meetings.
To manage and provide effective leadership to the Security Department including appropriate use of resources and efficient allocation of tasks to key areas.
Identify training gaps and direct the Training Manager to cover these shortfalls.
Process all requests for annual and flexi leave ensuring that adequate cover to maintain 100% safety and security to AUAF is provided at all times.
To ensure the Security Operations Manual is up to date for use by all on site security personnel to cover duties individual instructions for each post; attendance; use of security equipment; dress standards; training etc.
Maintain the Security Department inventory ensuring that no equipment is unserviceable or deficient.
Assist the Director/Assistant Director of security in compiling the annual security departmental budget and participate in the Financial Services monthly/quarterly reviews on budget performance.
Act as focal point for any investigations involving security; to prepare reports and note follow up action.
Report any significant security breaches to the Director/Assistant Director of security.
Maintain inter-office communication on security related issues.
Collate security updates and intelligence from relevant agencies (reliable resources media government authorities etc.) and disseminate to the Director/Assistant Director of security.
Perform any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or department head.
