 Bachelor’s degree in Education Social Sciences Public Administration or related subjects.

 Minimum 3 years extensive experience in the implementation of basic education programmes.

Professional skills:

 Extensive Teacher capacity building  and training experience

 Knowledge and experience of Training

 Well developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.

 Strong organisational interpersonal and communications skills.

 Flexible reliable culturally sensitive ability to work under pressure a feel for the way Concern operates and our target group. 

 Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 Good mentoring skills Needs to have initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision.

 Experience in data management and good analytical skills.

 Good writing/reporting skills.

 Ability to demonstrate teaching techniques

 Knowledge of the mentoring process.

 Abilty to work collaboratively  and sensitively with teachers  to improve childrens learning

 Computer skills (Word Excel Outlook) & Fluency in written Dari/Pashto and Knowledge of English.



Main activities and responsibilities:

Project development:

• Facilitate to engage parents children Mullahs education personal and stakeholders on school planning educational events and monitoring within  the target schools

• Assist schools and education departments to organize educational events such as student competitions EGRA etc.

• Conduct school monitoring in collaboration with schools management and education department to oversee the attendance rate school hygiene and safety

• Conduct training need assessment using training cycle management approach follow the training via provision of assistance in class and coach the teachers accordingly where appropriate.  

• Write monthly plans and progress reports and school visits report from all CBE classes and Hub schools.

• Write case studies regarding teacher capacity learning outcomes and quality of teaching and learning in the targeted CBE classes and Hub schools.

• Liaise with school management committee and parent teacher committee when appropriate and necessary to discuss and consult on school issue

• Assist school teachers to develop teaching aids using indigenous material pertaining to subject within primary school and literacy courses.

Training and Capacity-Building:

• Train teachers and headmasters within target CBS and Hub Schools on the following subjects but not limited to:

o Teaching methodology

o Appropriate use of teaching aid

o lesson planning

o child psychology equality and gender

o PHC and environmental training

o school administration training

o standard package of trainings provided by MoE

o conduct social and general science trainings that enable teachers to deliver quality teaching service

o train teachers on School related gender based violence

o Provide any other professional teacher’s training when required.

• Train Parent Teacher Committees’ and schools management committees on basic issue relevant to their activity that enabling them to function efficiently.

• Spend considerable time in Hub and CBS schools facilitating demonstration lesson to students in present of teacher and in collaboration of school administration to organize micro teaching sessions.

• Organize micro teaching sessions with target school teachers in non-class time to ensure the target teachers received relevant feedback on the topic he/she teaches

• Plan and deliver Training of the Teachers on CBS packages of the Ministry of Education in targeted areas. 

• Identify needs and train PTSAs SMCs School Shuras Hub schools teachers and other Educational CBOs on CBS packages relevant to the needs of the.

• Supervise and  identify the  needs of the Adult Literacy Teachers Plan and conduct appropriate trainings in consultation with the Literacy Departments in target districts.  

Mentor teachers through in class support visits on a fortnightly basis during the school year to ensure teachers are given good professional instruction to improve their knowledge and skills.

Development of Teaching and Learning Materials:

• Review develop or Update all trainings materials received from the MoE other stakeholders or develop new training materials as appropriate.

• Support in Establishment of archives of training materials in each Target District. 

• Discuss with the Line manager regarding any needs of the training materials and training resources or facilities.


• Attend regular meetings in Concern’s Field Offices to provide project feedback and forward planning

• Undertake any other related duties as may be assigned by the Education Officer and Programme Manager.

• Contribute in preparing Education Newsletter for writing about teaching and learning outcomes Teachers quality etc.

Education Emergency:

• Coordinate and conduct needs-based joint monitoring visits with PED/DED and EiE related partners in emergencies and conflict affected area;

• Oversee and provide technical support to the development process of emergency preparedness and strategic response plan to strengthen education service delivery for children and adults during emergencies and conflicts at provincial and district level;

• Provide technical support to PED/DED on measures to accelerate implementation of emergency response plan on the spot during emergencies and conflicts

• Assist the supervisor in monitoring the implementation of education programmes and provide guidance on orientation in emergency.

CHS & Emergency:

• Concern is committed to CHS to ensure downward accountability. Concern activities are guided by CHS standards in all stages both emergency and development projects /programs. In Afghanistan we also bounded our activities by Accountability framework and therefore any Afghanistan employees are responsible to comply with CHS principles and benchmarks as instructed by its policies and therefore make sure that you accept and implement CHS standards in all your activities.

• To give your full support in relation to emergencies when occurring in any area that Concern Afghanistan will respond.

• Act as the focal person of Concern’s Complaint Response Mechanism (CRM) attend to all complaints in confidentiality liaise with relevant Programme Manager that complaints is raised. If complaint is not resolved at the district level refer the case to the National office CRM focal persons.
