Availability of at least 3 years job experience in reputed national or international organizations and in a similar position with leadership and field supervision responsibilities.
High level communication skills.
Competencies in communication consultation staff-management time management supervision decision making and planning skills.
Have knowledge of office automation in computers.
Should be fluent in Pashto Dari and English languages.
Ability to deal well with a diverse population.
Ability to manage and control team and be able to work independently and in a team setting.
Scope of Work:
APA will be implementing a project of Emergency Livestock Assistance in Koshk-e-Kohna Kohsan and Gulran districts of Herat province as well as Nawa and Nahr-e-Siraj districts of Helmand province. The main purpose and focus of this project is to prevent drought affected vulnerable farming households from displacement through providing them animal feed package fodder crop seed and training on good practices in animal husbandry and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The Team Leader is responsible for the APA project operations in Herat and Helmand provinces. S/he is to make sure all staff in Herat and Helmand are performing their activities smoothly and the team is well prepared for protection monitoring and emergency response activities. Team Leader is also responsible to respond positively to any queries regarding project implementation in Herat and Helamnd to APA Main office Kabul.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the project activities in the field
Ensure that the project team functions synergistically to meet project and organization objectives.
Plan and coordinate with the project team all aspects of delivery at strategic project and activity levels
Ensures that activities are delivered timely and to the highest quality
Ensure smooth running of the project team including capacity building performance monitoring and appraisal
Manage and oversee all phases of the project management cycle including inception delivery and closeout
Facilitate internal and external communication and reporting in coordination with Project Manager
Prepare work plans and ensures that the project goal has been achieved
Ensures that the project components are implemented as per the work plans
Holding meetings of the project staff and with Project Manager
Ensures that the project staff has the update information (Covering all aspects of the project)
Monitor project progress and site visit discussion with field staff
Prepare timely and accurate progress reports and submit to the project Coordinator
Perform any other related activities assigned by Project Manager.
Regularly appraise staffs and provide feedback and support to enable them to do their jobs better.
Establish and maintain good working relations with the relevant government directorates as well as other high level stakeholder groups.
Encourage staff to report frankly on fieldwork highlighting problems and possible solutions plus lessons learned.
Ensure the planning of and participate in key reflection moments in particular the annual project reviews.
Full consideration to the project security issues SOPs and mitigation.
Perform other job-related duties as directed by his/her supervisor including short term assignments to other two provinces under the project (Herat and Helmand).
